JACK PHILLIPS Obituary
Phillips, Jack Age 81, of Braintree, MA, January 2, 2014, born in Bronx, NY, previous resident of Albany, NY, Massapequa Park, NY, Framingham, MA, loving husband and father survived by his wife of 54 years, Elaine, sister Rochelle Roth, "Jack's Girls"- Celeste Phillips, Laura Maddock (Tom), Penny Phillips (John Shand), Marcy McGourty (Eddie), and Dody Timpone (Michael), 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Always ready with a story, a joke or laugh, he was a cherished friend and confidant to many, and the epitome of integrity. He viewed life as a glass half full, not empty, and inspired others to do the same. Jack enjoyed a 35 year career as a senior executive with retails giants Abraham & Straus, Filene's, Jordan Marsh, and Cohoes. He was president of the Men's Club of Temple B'nai Shalom, board member of Devon Woods Association, and served in the US Army during the Korean War. A memorial service to celebrate Jack's life will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Temple B'Nai Shalom. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Temple B'Nai Shalom, 41 Storrs Avenue, Braintree MA 02184 or to the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, 465 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02115.
