Ruggiero, John J. "Bud"|
Formerly of Watertown, Point Independence and Taunton, Massachusetts, passed away on July 24, 2013 after a short illness with his family by his side. John was the devoted husband of the late Marie Grassia Ruggiero. He was the son of the late William and Mary (Piscatelli) Ruggiero of Cambridge. John leaves behind two sons, William of Taunton and Richard of Berkley, his beloved daughters-in-law, Brenda Riva Ruggiero and Debbi Gregg Ruggiero. He was the loving brother of George Ruggiero and his wife, Katherine of Watertown, Mary Rockwood and her late husband, Donald of Hopedale and Dorothy Mula and the late husband Carmen of Waltham. John was a loving grandfather to Brianne Ruggiero Gore, Johnathan Ruggiero, Ryan Ruggiero, Melissa Ruggiero Roman, Mallory Ruggiero, Kayla Walsh and Lance Ruggiero. He was also the proud great-grandfather to Vincent, Elijah, Shiloh and Tabor. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews. For 35 years, John served in the United States National Guard and United States Air Force where he was a Chief Aeronautical Specialist. John was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and WW II veteran. After retiring from the service in 1977, John held the position of equipment specialist at Mt. Auburn and Waltham Hospitals. When he relocated to Taunton in 1996, John served as a volunteer at Morton Hospital until 2011.
Funeral will be held from the MacDonald, Rockwell, & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main Street on Rte. 20 WATERTOWN on Monday at 8:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 o'clock, in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main Street. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment at St. Patrick Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 PM.
