1957 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Cullen, Mark Stephen Of Ipswich, 56, beloved husband of Kimberly A. (Burke) Cullen died Saturday, July 19, 2014 in his home surrounded by family after his long fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Syracuse, NY on October 1, 1957 he was the son of Eileen (Bransfield) Cullen of Ipswich and the late James Cullen. Mark was raised in Melrose and was a 1975 graduate of Malden Catholic High School. He entered the US Army in 1976 and was stationed for two years in Korea as a microwave system technician. Following his discharge he returned to Melrose, trained and worked as plumber until his recent illness. Mark made Ipswich his home in 2007. He enjoyed sharing his time between Ipswich and Cape Neddick ME where he met his wife Kimberly. Mark's military service was very important to him. He continued to give back to the community by donating his time and services along with assisting in many fundraising events. He was an active member of the VFW Post #5707 in Rowley, VFW Post #6977 in Cape Neddick, ME and Amvets Post #201 in Ipswich. Marks passing leaves a hole in many hearts. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends who stood by him during his lengthy illness. In addition to his wife Kimberly of Ipswich and Cape Neddick, ME, he is survived by his precious dog Ruby; his mother, Eileen Cullen of Ipswich; a daughter, Nicole Cullen of Everett; a granddaughter Brooklyn LaMonica of Everett; a mother in law, Linda Laskey of Melrose; two brothers, Timothy Cullen and his wife Barbara of W. Newbury, Daniel Cullen and his wife Sarah of Ipswich; sister, Joanne Cerretani and her husband Mike of Great Falls, VA; sister in law, Jennifer Deforest and her husband Russ of Simpsonville, SC; his nieces and nephews, Patrick, Mathew, Meaghan, Teaghan, Aidan and Shaelin Cullen, John, Lauren, Brian and Evan Cerretani, Kaia, Thye and Jada Deforest and many aunts, uncles and cousins. His funeral will be held 10 am Tuesday, July 29 from the Whittier-Porter Funeral Home 6 High Street, Ipswich followed by the celebration of a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at noon in Our Lady of Hope Church, Linebrook Road., Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed.
