Burke, Milton A. 88, of Andover and Pine Island Cove, St. James City Florida died Sunday surrounded by his loving family at his residence in Andover. Milton was born in Boston Massachusetts on September 6, 1925 to the late Adrian and Bertha (Heffler) Burke. He was employed as a Lithographer for many years at Murray Printing Company in Westford, MA prior to his retirement. At the age of 17 Milton enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country during WW II. He had the military distinction of being among those in the first hour, first wave invasion at Omaha Beach on D Day, June 6, 1944 and was the recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Milton was member of the 29th Division Association and the 116th Infantry Regiment Stonewall Brigade. He was also a past member of the Holy Name Society of St. Patrick's Church in Stoneham and the Knights Of Columbus. He is survived by his wife and sweetheart from the age of 15, Rose (Imbornone) Burke of Andover, his daughter, Catherine A. Burnett and her husband Bruce of Andover and his son Steven M. Burke of Stoneham and his dear friend, Rick Stockellburg. Also among his survivors are his grandchildren, Melanie Parker and her husband Keith and Michael Burnett and his wife Kelly. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Andrew and Lucas Burnett, several nieces and nephews, as well as extended family members, Barbara Biondo, Andrea and Chuck Enman and their children, and Michael and Nicole Biondo. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday at 10 AM at St. Josephs Church in the Ballardvale section of Andover. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery also in Andover. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 PM at the Conte Funeral Home 28 Florence Street Andover.
