1951 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Leven, Pamela S. 62, of Culver City, CA, died December 19, 2013, at the UCLA Medical Center from brain injuries sustained in a bicycle-to-bicycle accident four days earlier. She had been wearing a helmet and protective gear. An independent business writer and marketing communications consultant for more than 30 years, she had previously been a business journalist at Business Week, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and Investor's Business Daily. Born in New York City, she grew up in Cedar Grove, NJ, and received a BA in Communications from Simmons College. Always deeply involved in her community and many volunteer organizations, she was President of the Los Angeles Wheelmen Bicycle Club, Treasurer of the Independent Writers of Southern California, and a volunteer tutor in the LA Public Schools. She was also an active Simmons alumna. She found joy in many outdoor activities including running, kayaking, sailing, and hiking. She is survived by her beloved husband Robert Geddes, brother Lawrence and his wife Myra, niece Meredith Kinney, niece Rachel Leven, nephew Eric Leven, cousin Gary Leven, and cousin Barbara Leven. Admired for her optimism and wit, she leaves behind a far-reaching family of loving relatives and friends. No services were held. Contributions in her memory may be made to any women's shelter that also houses children, and to Simmons College, Boston, MA.
