Barske, Philip
Age 96, of Sharon, formerly of North Easton and Fairfield, CT. Died peacefully at home on August 23, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Doris. Survived by his loving daughter, Jane Kelly and her husband Doug of Sharon, his two adored grandsons, Ryan Kelly of North Easton and Tyler Kelly of Sharon, and many nieces and nephews. Dr. Barske was a noted wildlife biologist, who made conservation his life-long vocation and was recognized as a leading practitioner of wet lands creation, restoration, and enhancement. After studying forestry and wildlife management at the University of CT he earned a master's degree in conservation and wildlife at the University of Michigan. He worked for the Wildlife Management Institute for 33 years, traveling all over the northeast from Virginia to the Canadian Provinces promoting wise use of natural resources. After receiving a doctorate in applied ecology from Antioch College he continued in the field as a private consultant. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choosing.
