ROBERT A. HALL JR. Obituary
HALL, Robert A. Monty Jr. 69, of Norwood, passed on March 26, 2014, at home. Born in Boston on February 2, 1945, he was a son of Barbara (Weeber) Hall of Wrentham and the late Robert A. Hall, Sr. Robert was educated in Wrentham schools and was a graduate of King Philip High School class of 1962, where he played alto horn as a member of the marching band. He attended UMass in Amherst and Stonehill College. Robert served his country proudly as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He studied Mandarin Chinese at Yale University while in the service and used that skill as a language analyst during the war. He later worked as a technician at Polaroid in Waltham and Norwood for 38 years. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion, and was very active in the Wrentham Mens Sunday Morning Softball League. He also coached in the Norwood Womens Softball League. He was a fan of all Boston sports teams, but was especially an avid New England Patriots fan and season ticket holder. Robert also enjoyed photography and was a Corvette owner and enthusiast. He will be missed by all his friends and extended family at Lewis Bar and Grill in Norwood where he was a member of the dart league. He will forever be remembered for his sharp wit, sense of humor, and kind ways. In addition to his mother Barbara, and his former wife Rosemary (Grande) Mitchell, Robert is survived by his siblings; Janet and her husband Gerry Howell of Lexington, Susan and her husband Richard Travers of Taunton, Jeffrey and his wife Lynda Hall of Wrentham, and Lori and her husband Joseph Maribito of Wenham, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 2-5 PM in the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South Street, RT 1A, Wrentham Center. His graveside service with full military honors will be on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 11 AM in Highland Cemetery, Winter Street, Norwood.
