RUTH (FESSENDEN) BOUTILIER Obituary
Boutilier, Ruth (Fessenden)
Oct. 14 of breast cancer, at age 76, surrounded by family at her home in Plymouth. She grew up in North Andover, a daughter of the late Charles and Pauline Fessenden. She graduated from Boston University with an A.B. in French and was a popular French teacher in Salem, N.H., Manchester-by-the-Sea and Andover. She raised her family in Bridgewater, where she was active in Central Square Congregational Church, the Bridgewater State College Faculty Wives and the Garden Club. She was accomplished at knitting and embroidery and baked hundreds of Christmas cookies every year. She faced her cancer diagnosis bravely and with a positive attitude. She is survived by her husband, Robert; three sons, Scott, Glenn and Robert; three grandchildren, Joshua, Elizabeth and Samantha; three daughters-in-law, Sharion, Lynn and Emily; brother- and sister-in-law William and Patricia Boutilier; sister-in-law Janice Boutilier; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister Janice Cookson. A memorial service will be planned at a future date. Donations may be made to McCarthy Care Center at Hope Hospice or any favorite charity.
