THOMAS J. POLLARD Obituary
POLLARD, Thomas J. Of Marblehead, died suddenly Saturday, October 27, 2012. Born in Boston on 3/10/66, he was a lifelong resident of Marblehead. Thomas was graduated from St. John's Prep, Danvers in the Class of 1984 and received his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College in the class of 1988. He graduated from Emory University with an MBA in Operations in 1993, and from Cornell University in 1999 with an MILR in Collective bargaining and HR. Thomas worked as a Federal mediator for the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. Previously, Tom worked for the National Labor Relations Board, General Electric and Capital One. A loving son, brother, and uncle, he worked as a volunteer firefighter in Fayetteville, NY and Glastonbury, CT. He was an avid hunter, Yosemite park ranger, a hospital volunteer, loyal friend, boater and devoted dog owner. Thomas was predeceased by his father James J Pollard, MD in January of this year. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth A. (Hardy) Pollard of Marblehead, two brothers, James J. Pollard, Jr. and his wife Noreen Murphy of Newton, Charles W. Pollard, and his wife Lori Davis Pollard of Marblehead; a nephew, Alex, and nieces, Casey, Katie and Jilly Pollard. Arrangements: His funeral will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 81 Atlantic Ave., Marblehead. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 1, 4-8 PM in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St) SALEM. Interment will be in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in loving memory to Dartmouth College General Fund, 6066 Development Office, Hanover, NH 03755.
