FALSEY, William Joseph III 60, of New Haven, CT entered into eternal rest with Our Lord surrounded by his loved ones on Dec. 26, 2013 after a long illness. Son of the late William J. Falsey Jr. and Laurene Burns Falsey of New Haven. Beloved brother of Marilyn Falsey Hanley of Framingham, MA and her husband John J. Hanley, loving uncle to CJ Hanley of Northampton, Melanie Beaudet of Hopkinton and Jennifer Hale of Salem, and great uncle to Luke and Shelby Beaudet and Amiel Hanley. Nephew of Robert P. and Kay Burns and Ronda Burns (CT), and Jerry and Mary Falsey Dwyer (Orleans), he leaves 37 cousins. Predeceased by grandparents, the late William J. Falsey, Loretta Higgins Falsey (New Haven) and Edward J. Burns and Judith Palm Burns (Torrington). Billy worked passionately as an advocate and counselor in the mental health profession for over 30 years. He also served on the Board of the Connecticut Legal Rights Project. He attended Hopkins School in New Haven and majored in Economics at Merrimack College in No. Andover, MA. Bill was also active in AA and would have celebrated 34 years of sobriety on Dec. 28. His family and friends remember him for his strong Faith, generous spirit, love of his family, great sense of humor, huge heart, and warm smile. He had tremendous courage, compassion, integrity, humility, and love; he battled many health problems through prayer and his strong spirit--never giving up. Friends may call at the Eugene McCarthy Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St., FRAMINGHAM, MA. Sunday, Jan. 5 from 1 to 5 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bridgets Church, 830 Worcester Rd., Framingham on Monday at 9 am. Interment in Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring William Falseys memory may be made to the Yale Section of Nephrology who with Dr. Rex Mahnensmith compassionately provided abiding clinical and personal care to Billy in the final years of his life.
