VERGATO Gerald A. Vergato, 73, formerly of Watertown, passed away peacefully in his residence surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra (De Angelis) Vergato; four children and spouses, Edward Vergato & Pamela; Gerald Bengato & Durinda, all of Somersworth, NH; Charlotte Peters & husband Terrance of Hampton Falls, NH; Julie Vergato of Dover, NH; four brothers, Robert Vergato & Cindy of Nahua, NH; William Vergato of Maynard; Richard Vergato of Atkinson, NH; Dennis Vergato of Bennington, NH; 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by a son, Peter Vergato. Gerald was born in Newton to the late Gerardo & Julia (Antonucci) Vergato. He graduated from Rindge Technical High School Class of 1958 and enlisted to proudly serve our nation in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Jerry returned from service and continued studies, obtaining degrees from both Merrimac College and Southern NH College. He began employment with the Millpore Corp., and later worked with Sanders Associates and Luminator, before establishing his own business, Transit Sign Systems, which he successfully owned and operated for the past twenty years. Jerry was an avid sports fan devoted to both the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He enjoying fishing and took pleasure in playing both Keno and Bingo. Jerry most cherished time spent in the company of his loving family and will be dearly missed as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, December 2, 2013, in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., CLINTON, with calling hours held in the Funeral Home prior from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M.
