Rebecca Peck, 91, passed away January 19, 2014 after a long illness. Born in Clearwater and raised partly in Nashville, she was a longtime resident of Bradenton, a retired schoolteacher and artist. Rebecca received her Master's degree at Peabody College, Vanderbilt University and volunteered with the Red Cross during WWII. Becky was a past president of the Manatee Art League and BYC. She was a creative sculptor and gifted sumi painter. She loved to travel, sailing with her late husband Doug to Mexico, the Bahamas, Bermuda and the eastern seaboard of the US on the "Gooney Bird". "Coach" Peck was a Physical Education teacher at Ballad Elementary for 19 years. She had many friends, and stayed in touch with her college buds through the years. She is survived by daughter Dorothy, son Douglas, his wife Kathy and 3 grandchildren. A Celebration of Life for Doug and Becky is planned at a later date.
