Federico "Kiko" Cantú, 82, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, surrounded by his family in Brownsville, Texas.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and a loyal employee, who retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He suffered a heart attack on Veterans Day.
He would have celebrated his 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 21, 2013.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio and Rosa Cantú; son, Jaime J. Cantú; siblings, Aurora Nuñez and Enrique Cantú.
Federico is survived by his devoted wife, Gregoria Cantú; children, Norma V. Cantú, Federico Cantú, Jr. (Laura), Olga E. Rowehl, Judith D. Rodriguez, Arthur D. (Esmi) Cantú, Nora B. Arita; brothers, Eugenio, Alfredo, Guadalupe Cantú and sisters, Rosa Turner and Margarita Leal; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7 p.m., today, Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Garza Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church.
Interment will follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
