Florencia B. Ropeta, 84, was born on May 10, 1929, and she passed away on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013.|
She was preceded in death by her husband, Santos Ropeta, and son, Jaciel Ropeta.
Florencia is survived by her children: Marichu and Don, Samson and Vangie, Lorna and Jim, Leo and Mel, and Necipura; daughters-in-law, Naty, Alvenia, and Elma; grandchildren, Sheila, Jun, Daniel, Kia, Lara, Donna and Budy, Mark Louie and Mean, Jerbie, Johnny, Pauline, Jay, Nikki, Makki, Lakki, and Luke.
Florencia received her B.S. in Education and Master's Degree in Agriculture and retired as a public school teacher.
She migrated in 1991 and became a U.S. citizen in 1997. She was a parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church and a member of the Filipino Choir. She was also a member of Daughters of America Association, Couples of Christ Association, and Rosary Crusade Association.
Visitation will begin from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Treviño Funeral Home, 1355 Old Port Isabel Road.
Funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at St. Mary Catholic Church.
The burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
"In the path of hardship lies the success" was her favorite line.
