Obituary Condolences

JUAN BARRIENTES Jr. Obituary
Juan Barrientes Jr., 66, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away in his home on August 24, 2013.

Juan attended Brownsville High School in Brownsville, Texas, and joined the U.S. Army in 1967. He served two tours in Vietnam and was awarded three Purple Heart awards for injuries he received in combat. Juan was a member of the Bryan VFW Post 2489 and AmVets Post 54.

He enjoyed life through music. He was a musician with many talents and never skipped a beat. Juan not only played, but taught others the art of music. The Staffs was the band most people would remember him by. If he wasn't singing, he was cooking. He loved to experiment in the kitchen.

Juan Barrientes Jr. was born Sept. 17, 1946, in Brownsville, Texas, the son of Juan and Maria (Pineda) Barrientes Sr.

He is survived by his daughter, Monica B. (Carlos) Garcia-Moreno, of Brownsville, Texas; grandchildren, Samantha, Samuel, Maria Elena, Annabelle Lee and Carlos Alberto Moreno II, all of Brownsville, Texas; sisters, Vicki (Melvin) Palmerton and Delia Cisneros, both of Bryan, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Melvin D. Palmerton, Jason A. (Liz) Cisneros and Jennifer (Cory) Artz; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Matthew, Rylee, Brady, Aubry, Gage and Hunter.

He also leaves many family members in Bryan, Ohio, and Brownsville, Texas, that will miss him.

Visitation for Juan Barrientes Jr. will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2013, at Krill Funeral Home, 860 W. Mulberry St., Bryan, Ohio.

Graveside services will be held at Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan, Ohio, immediately following the visitation. Graveside military rites will be provided by the Bryan VFW Post 2489.

The family of Juan Barrientes Jr. would recommend memorial donations in his honor to be directed to the Williams County Veterans Memorial Building.
