PARMA: Gladys Louise Miller (nee Kobs), age 97, of Parma, Ohio, beloved wife of 62 years of the late Howard Albert Miller who passed away in January 2003; loving mother of Thomas H. Miller (Dorothy) of New Washington, Ohio, James E. Miller of Westlake, Ohio, and Susan Simon of Ashtabula, Ohio; dear grandmother of seven; great-grandmother of nine; sister of the late Leona Schroeder, the late Esther Stock, the late Elsie Duckwitz and the late Fred Kobs, Jr. Gladys was born in Cleveland and attended St. Mark Lutheran School and Cleveland West Technical High School.
She was a lifelong member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Cleveland. She was trained as a stenographer and worked as such for the Sherwin Williams Co. and the General Motors Corp. Fisher Cleveland Aircraft Division during World War II. For most of their lives, Gladys and Howard resided on Grantwood Drive in Parma, in a home they built together.
Gladys passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013 at Olentangy Woods in Galion, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be forwarded to St. Mark Lutheran Church's Repair Fund, 4464 Pearl Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44109. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 12:30 P.M. at the BUSCH FUNERAL HOME, 7501 Ridge Road, Parma, where her family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the time of her service at 12:30 P.M. The Rev. Stephen O. Shrum, Pastor of St. Mark Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Cleveland.
