JETTE - Carl Noel, Sr. Of Getzville, passed away on June 3, 2014. Mr. Jette was born in Spencer, MA to Rhea Cournoyer Jette on Christmas Day 1926. At the age of 17 he enlisted in The United States Marine Corps, serving in Okinawa and occupied China. At the conclusion of WW II he moved to Buffalo, NY to court and later marry his bride of 66 years Sophie Mae Loncar. During that time they were blessed with four sons, Carl, Alan, David and Michael; four daughters-in-law, Laura Kriesel, Sharon Heim, Catherine Quinlin and Sharon Hughes; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Timothy, Jennifer, Kristina, Jon, Caroline, Caitlin, and Kari and five great-grandchildren, Adam, Patrick, Hunter, Savannah and Chase. Mr. Jette worked at Erie County Correctional Facility as a Corrections Officer for 29 years, retiring in 1981. Soon after they moved to Port Charlotte, FL where they lived until 2008. "Granbo" will be remembered most by his family and friends for his unique humor and incomparable servant's heart. A Mass to celebrate the life of Mr. Jette will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Saturday June 7 at 11 AM. The family will greet friends after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice Buffalo. The family is being served by SIECK & MAST FUNERAL HOME.
