KRAFT - Norman John Passed away in Kenner, LA on Saturday, December 28, 2013. A native of Swormville, NY where he lived for 74 years before moving to Harahan, LA, where he spent the last 21 years. Mr. Kraft was a member of the Jurek Post American Legion for 36 years. He was a devoted volunteer firefighter for the Swormville Fire Company for 58 years. Norman retired from Dunlop Tire and Rubber where he worked for 40 years. He served in the US Army both in the United States and Europe during WWII. Mr. Kraft was preceded in death by his parents Olive Spoth and George F. Kraft; his brothers Earl, Victor, Albert, George, Harold, Wilfred; his sisters Evelyn, Pearl, Esther Stever and Ruth Lemke. He is also preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Genevieve Lucy Szustak Kraft. Mr. Kraft is survived by his son Norman G. Kraft and daughter Shirley Kraft Guzzardo. He leaves behind four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was loved and adored by his family. He will be dearly missed, by many whose lives he has touched. Services will be held in the Chapel of LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME in New Orleans, on Monday, January 6, 2013.
