CARBONE - Vincent James Lieutenant Colonel (retired Reserve) Passed peacefully in his New Jersey home surrounded by his loving family on December 1, 2012. Born in Buffalo, NY, he enlisted in the US Army Air force in 1943, and was discharged as a Flight Officer on 10-15-1945. He was appointed 2nd Lieutenant USAF Reserve in 1948, where he continued training. He was assigned to Retired Reserve on 2-26-70, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He worked for the IRS as a special agent, and also for the NJOAG, retiring in 1990. He was a parishioner at St. Mary's R.C. Church. His loving wife Aileen predeceased him in 1997. He is survived by his son Carl Carbone, his wife Marilyn and grandson Christopher, stepson James Benzin, his wife Peggy, and granddaughter Jessica, son Vincent J. Carbone Jr. and daughter Kim DeCarlo, her husband David, grandson Aric and granddaughter Danielle. Services were held on Wednesday December 5, 2012 at St. Mary's R.C. Church in Barnegat, NJ.
