DANIEL E. BUSHEY - BURLINGTON - Daniel E. Bushey, 76, formerly of Huntington, died in Burlington Health and Rehab Center on Feb. 15, 2014. He was born in Burlington on April 18, 1937, son of Loretta (Bushey) Holmes. Danny graduated from St. Anthony's Grade School and Burlington High School. He served overseas in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked several years in Connecticut as a tree surgeon, then he returned to Vermont and worked in construction for many years, until his retirement. He married Barbara Barber in Burlington on May 4, 1963. She predeceased him on June 17, 2009. He was also predeceased by his brother, Donald Creller, in 2005. Danny loved his cabin in Huntington, snowmobiling, hunting, and boxing, when he was young. He was a former member of the Burlington VFW Howard Plant Post #782. Danny his survived by his mother, Loretta Holmes of South Burlington; sister-in-law, Nancy Creller of Connecticut; two nephews and their wives, Randy and Tina Creller of West Virginia, and Craig and Tracy Creller of Connecticut; one niece, Sheila Creller also of Connecticut; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Nancy Barber of Burlington; several aunts; an uncle; and many cousins who were very helpful to him throughout the years. His family would like to thank the staff at Burlington Health and Rehab for their good care during Danny's time there. Services will be private in the spring.
