JAMES B. MCHUGH - BURLINGTON - James B. McHugh, 85, passed away peacefully with his wife, Peg, by his side on Saturday, May 25, 2013, in Birchwood Terrace Healthcare. He was born on April 23, 1928, in Miami, Fla., the son of James H. and Pauline C. (Beck) McHugh. He graduated from Spaulding High School in Barre in 1947, and served his country honorably with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He later worked with the VT Highway Dept. and with the VT State Liquor Division at both the Pearl Street and Flynn Avenue stores. Jim was a longtime 3rd Degree member of the Burlington Knights of Columbus #279. He leaves his wife of 35 years, Lucille "Peg" McHugh of Burlington; siblings and spouses, William and Helene and Thomas McHugh, Kathleen and Larry Limoge, and Patrick and Judy McHugh; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by sister-in-law, Annette McHugh. Memorial services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Chapel, 97 Elmwood Ave. Interment will follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery.
