LEO C. DUSHARM SR. - BURLINGTON - Leo C. Dusharm Sr., 87, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at home on April 13, 2014. He was born to the late Charles J. Dusharm and Eva (Chagnon) Dusharm on Aug. 29, 1926, in Burlington. He entered the service at the age of 18 and was a veteran of W.W.II. He served his country in Japan right after the dropping of the atomic bomb. Upon his return from the war, he met his soul mate, Joyce (Riley) Dusharm, whom he married on April 4, 1948. Together Leo and Joyce shared 66 loving years as husband and wife and best friends. They raised four children. Leo enjoyed cars and worked as a mechanic for many years. After leaving Nordic Ford in 1979, he worked with Joyce at their home in Malletts Bay. He loved to garden, read books, watch old westerns and loved being with his family. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Leo C. Jr. (Ann) of Titusville, Fla., Robin (Heidi) of Bailey, Colo., and Randy (JoAnn) of Cape Coral, Fla.; brother and sisters, Betty Lamore, John (Janice) Dusharm, and Donna (Jack) Blanchette; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Joe Riley, Donald Riley, Theresa Tanner, Shirley (James) Ballard, and Robert (Gail) Riley; nine grandchildren, Theresa Dusharm, Traci (Todd) Billings, Tanya (Trevor) LaChapelle, Joshua Dusharm, Danielle (Todd) Charlebois, Ashley Dusharm, Allison (Ron) Ploof, Renee (Ryan) Mobbs, and Randi-Lynn (Justin) Crowther, all living in Vermont; and 13 great-grandchildren. Leo was predeceased by his daughter, Brenda Dusharm; as well as his two sisters, Dorothy LaFond and Theresa LaCasse. He will be very missed by his wife and his family. Services and burial will be held at a later date. Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 71 South Union St., Burlington, in care of arrangements.
