RICHARD ERNEST LARAMEE - COLCHESTER - Richard Ernest Laramee, 79, of Colchester and St. Pete Beach, Fla., died on Saturday, May 19, 2012, in Fletcher Allen Health Care after emergency surgery. He was born in Burlington on Dec. 8, 1932, the son of the late Elphege and Eugenie (Duhaime) Laramee. He was a Korean War veteran, having served with the US Army. He was married to Gert Marcotte. He worked 33 years for General Electric in Burlington, retiring in 1989. Dick coached his sons' basketball and baseball teams and played softball through the 1970s and 1980s. Since 1992, he spent his winters in St. Pete Beach, Fla., playing softball in the Woodlawn and Gulfport leagues. His last five winters he played over 100 games a season with the Kids & Kubs. Dick had many friends and was loved by all. He lived a very full life. Richard is survived by his wife, Gert of Colchester; their four sons, Michael Laramee and partner, Irene Bissonnette, of Essex Junction, Pat Laramee of Washington, D.C., Jeff Laramee of Baltimore, Md., and Peter Laramee and wife, Lisa Laramee, of Belcamp, Md.; grandson, Joshua, and granddaughter, Audrey Mossey; four sisters, Leda Maple of Burlington, Lillian Poquette of California, Flo Moran and husband, Harold, of Charlotte, and Muriel McKenzie of Oregon; and by many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his in-laws, Vel Marcotte of Arizona, Paul Marcotte of Las Vegas, Pauline LaPierre of Burlington, Thomas Marcotte of Lake Tahoe, Jackie Johnson and husband, Bruce, of Kansas City, and Danny Marcotte and wife, Mary, of Jericho; and by special friends, Chuck and Doris Alberts. He was predeceased by his siblings, Conrad Laramee, Edna Bittner, Leo Laramee, Lucille Chicoine, and Romeo "Za" Laramee; and in-law, Rick Marcotte. The family would like to thank Fletcher Allen Health Care emergency and ICU staff for their excellent care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Christ the King Church, with burial to follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery.
