RUTH CLARA JACOBS - MIDDLEBURY - Ruth Clara Jacobs, 82, passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 19, 2014, in Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was born May 8, 1931, in Middlebury, one of 10 children of the late Philip and Clara (Danyew) Forrest. Ruth attended St. Mary's School and later Middlebury High School. She married E. Frank Mueller of Las Vegas, Nev., and later married Abraham Jacobs. Together, with her husband Abe, they operated the Campus Theater in Middlebury for many years. Ruth was a member of the Middlebury American Legion Auxiliary and the Middlebury V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and made great Syrian food. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, entertaining at family gatherings, and being a very social person. She is survived by her children, Richard Mueller and wife, Cindra, of Athol, Idaho, and Randy Jacobs and family of Rock Springs, Wyo.; siblings, Theresa Churchill and husband, Raymond, and Francis Forrest, both of Middlebury; close family and caregiver, Michael Miller and Trish Reese of Middlebury; three grandchildren, Leslie Fulham and husband, Adam, Shaun Jacobs and wife, Christine, and Derek Mueller and wife, Stephaine; two great-grandchildren, Kaleb Fulham and Gage Mueller; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sam and Ellen Jacobs and Joe and Barb Jacobs, both of Essex Junction, and Anna Wilson of South Burlington. She was predeceased by her husband, Abraham Jacobs, in 2001; son, Michael Mueller, on Feb. 17, 2007; daughter, Kim Jacobs, on Nov. 29, 2010; former husband, E. Frank Mueller, in 2013; and siblings, Bernice, Marion, Lucille, Kenneth, Robert, Raymond and Philip. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, 117 South Main St., Middlebury. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William Elwell, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Prospect Cemetery, East Middlebury. Arrangements are under the direction of the Sanderson-Ducharme Funeral Home, www.sandersonfuneralservice.com.
