Daniel Ray Rose, 92, of Cabot passed away Feb. 15.

He was born on June 15, 1921, in Everett, Pa., the son of the late Daniel D. and Zella (Blankley) Rose.
Dan was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II and the Korean War as a sergeant first class. He was awarded a Purple Heart among other honor medals.
He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was on the church council.
He retired after 35 years from H.J. Heinz.
He loved gardening, antiques and big band era music. He had been a member of the Saxonburg American Legion and the VFW.
Surviving are his daughter, Danell Rose and her husband, Ray Imbro, of Vero Beach, Fla.; his granddaughter, Kathryn Homsher, and his grandson, Daniel Homsher, both of Vero Beach, Fla.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Betty Katherine Rose; his infant son, Daniel Rose III, and his brother, John Rose.
Rose - The friends of Daniel Ray Rose, who passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
The services will be at the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler, at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Alden Towberman officiating.
Interment will follow immediately in the Saxonburg Cemetery with military honors by VFW 249 and American Legion 778.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Tele-CareGivers Program at Concordia Visiting Nurses, 613 N. Pike Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
