Edward L. Eury, 66, of Butler joined his friends and family in heaven Monday.
Ed, the son of the late Charles Eury and Norine (Weiland) Eury, was born on Aug. 30, 1947, in Butler.
He graduated from Butler High School.
He served in the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army from 1966-1967.
He worked at Pullman Standard for 18 years until the plant closed, and then joined the Grounds and Transportation Department at the Butler VAMC, where he retired in 2009.
Ed was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Butler, the Roman Catholic Men's Club in Herman and the VFW in Chicora. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling stories and spending time with his friends and family.
Ed is survived by his wife, Linda (Trimbur) Eury of Butler; his three children, Robert L. Eury of Butler, Elizabeth M. Weber of Butler and Clint E. Eury of Bellefonte, Pa.; his granddaughter, Paige M. Weber, and his two brothers, Ronald Eury and Rick Eury both of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his two other brothers, James Eury and Charles Eury Jr.
EURY - The friends of Edward L. Eury, who passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Butler.
St. Paul's Catholic Women will meet at 9:40 a.m. Friday at the church to recite the rosary.
