Edwin Irvine "Ed" Cary

Ed Cary, 83, of Beaver Falls died Friday at his home.
Born Jan. 24, 1931, he was the son of the late Bollard and Margaret Irvine Cary.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean War.
It was his love of football which led him to his true love. While stationed in Guam, playing football for the Agana Flyers, he met his wife to be on a blind date attending a football banquet.
He was a retired physical education/health teacher for the Beaver Falls and the Seneca Valley school districts for over 40 years. He was a highly respected assistant football coach at Beaver Falls and a head football coach at Seneca Valley.
He will be remembered and missed by his wife of 58 years, Natalie Gifford Cary; his five sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Brenda Cary of Georgia, Dana and Mary Kay Cary of Chippewa, Christopher and Carol Cary of Monaca, David and Shelly Cary of Conway and Colin and Stephanie Cary of Georgia; his six grandchildren, Amanda, Rob, Samantha, Daniel, Matthew and Andrea; a brother, John Cary; and a sister-in-law, Barb Cary.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bo and Jim Cary, and his sister, Mary Schar.
Cary - The friends of Ed Cary, who passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME, 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the College Hill Presbyterian Church, 3400 5th Ave., Beaver Falls, with the Rev. Dennis Burnett officiating.
A private interment will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
