Franklin Ross Snow
Franklin Ross Snow Sr., 70, of Petrolia passed away Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Petrolia on Nov. 21, 1942, and was the son of Robert and Esther B. (Blystone) Snow.
Frank graduated from Karns City High School and then decided to honorably serve his country by joining the U.S. Army in 1960. During his 20 years of service, he spent 14 years overseas in Germany, Turkey and Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star and Cross of Gallantry.
Frank married Helen Mae Rottman, who he met in elementary school, in July of 1962, and together they raised four children.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Helen Mae Snow; children, Tammy Lee Rottman of Chicora, Franklin R. Snow Jr. of Karns City, Earl James Snow of Petrolia and Karla A. Nass of Bruin; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Grace E. Dunlap of Chicora; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom and Jim Snow; and sister, Norma Jean Barger.
SNOW - A memorial gathering honoring Franklin Ross Snow Sr., who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 102 S. Argyle St., Petrolia.
