John F. "Jack" Schnur, 85, of Chester Hill, Philipsburg, Pa., died Tuesday at the DuBois Regional Medical Center in DuBois, Pa.
Born on Aug. 15, 1928, in Kittanning, he was the son of the late Paul and Loretto (Leibler) Schnur.
He married Patricia A. (Kirk) Schnur on April 19, 1954, in Winchester, Va. She preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 2012.
Mr. Schnur was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Philipsburg, Pa.
He was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He retired as the parts manager for the former Zulick's Chevrolet/Cadillac, and he was a 1946 graduate from Butler High School in Butler.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Schnur, and his two sisters, Donna Sarver and Nancy Daye.
Mr. Schnur is survived by two daughters, Judith E. Schnur of Chester Hill, Philipsburg, Pa., and Sharon A. Bloom of Chester Hill, Philipsburg, Pa.; his son, John F. Schnur and his wife, Billie, of Williamsport, Pa.; his sister, Jean Sloan of Colorado; and his brother, Richard Schnur of Butler. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Cody Bloom and Macy Bloom.
SCHNUR - The visitation for John F. "Jack" Schnur, who died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Heath Funeral Home, 701 Lingle St., Osceola Mills, Pa. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Brenda K. Leigey officiating.
Burial will be at Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills, Pa.
