Michael Embroski, 82, of Butler died Friday at VA Butler Healthcare in Butler.
Born on May 22, 1931, in Lyndora, he was the son of the late Matthew and Anna Jesik Embroski.
He was the husband of Gladys Butcherine Embroski. They were married on July 1, 1977, in Butler.
He was employed by Pullman Standard as a mill worker for over 18 years. He also was employed by Trinity Industries for eight years, retiring in 1996. Before Pullman Standard and Trinity Industry, he was employed by C & S Rail Cars, Chesapeake, Va.
Michael was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of VFW Post 249 and American Legion Post 778, where he was an honor guard. He was also a member of the Slovak Club Assembly 54, where he served as a bartender of over 20 years.
Surviving are his wife; his two brothers, John (Lenora) Embroski of Butler and Matthew (Karen) Embroski of Florida; his stepdaughter, Janet (Robert) McCandless of Hilliards; his six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters, one stepdaughter and one stepson.
Embroski - The friends of Michael Embroski, who died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with honor guard service at 6 p.m. A blessing service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Shortt of the VA Chapel officiating.
A committal service will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Butler County Memorial Park in the Chapel of Devotion with military honors to follow. Interment will take place at Butler County Memorial Park.
