Phillip I. 'Doc' Pipkin

Phillip I. "Doc" Pipkin, 65, of Butler passed away at 5:02 a.m. Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 6, 1947, in Mobile, Ala., to the late Johnnie Pipkin and Jessie Herrington Pipkin.
Mr. Pipkin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Vietnam.
He was a truck driver.
Mr. Pipkin was a member of the American Legion Post 117 in Butler. He did a lot of fundraising for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR racing and was a Baptist.
Mr. Pipkin is survived by his wife, Frances H. Pipkin, who he married June 16, 2001; several sons, daughters, and grandchildren; several sisters, nieces and nephews; one stepdaughter; and one stepson.
PIPKIN - There will be no public visitation or services for Phillip I. "Doc" Pipkin, who passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013. Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home., 124 E. North St., Butler.
