Russell L. "Lee" Mortimer, 94, of East Brady died Monday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
Born Sept. 10, 1918, in Phillipston, Pa., he was the son of Russell and Nelle (Painter) Mortimer.
Lee married Myrtle Hundstad on Jan. 26, 1952; she preceded him in death on Jan. 22, 2013.
A U.S. Army veteran, Lee served as a Technical Sergeant during World War II. He campaigned in Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland and Central Europe.
Lee was the recipient of a Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal and a European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with six Bronze stars.
A graduate of the DeVry Technical Institute, Lee was employed in TV sales and service.
He was a member of the East Brady United Methodist Church.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 402, East Brady.
Surviving are one brother, Laird Mortimer and wife, Dorothy, and one sister, Louise Smith, both of East Brady, as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Myrtle; and one brother, Howard.
Mortimer - Visitation, funeral services and burial in Rimersburg Cemetery for Russell L. "Lee" Mortimer, who died Monday, June 17, 2013, will be private.
Memorials may be made in Lee's name to the East Brady United Methodist Church, 418 Kelly's Way, East Brady, PA 16028.
