William Leroy Linn Jr., 66, of Valencia passed away Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born on April 14, 1947, in Beaufort, N.C., Bill was the son of Margaret Pauline (Brown) Rowls and the late William L. Linn Sr.
Bill proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
A true outdoorsman, he loved nature and enjoyed observing wildlife, gardening and fishing. Bill worked at Pittsburgh Tubular Shafting for more than 28 years.
Above all, he dearly treasured his step-grandchildren and will be remembered as a loving husband, stepfather and stepgrandfather who will be dearly missed.
In addition to his mother, Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Mabel Linn, who he married on Sept. 20, 1985; his six stepdaughters, Sabine Locker of Cranberry Township, Josephine Altman and her husband, Michael, of New Castle, Frances Paparelli of Butler, Esther Rice and her husband, John, of New Castle, Jane Norman and her husband, Robert, of Cranberry Township and Paula Shields of Valencia; his brother; his three sisters; his 14 stepgrandchildren; and his 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to his father, Bill was preceded in death by his two step-granddaughters, Heather Vogan and Rebecca Shields.
Linn - The family of William Leroy Linn Jr., who passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township, with the Rev. Andrew Shaffer officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Bill's honor to the , 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
