Carl H. Anschutz Carl H. Anschutz, 81, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014. He was born May 11, 1933, at home in Russell County, near Wilson, KS, the son of William Frederick and Hedwig Hattie (Schepmann) Anschutz. He served in U.S. Army during Korean War. Carl was a Kansas Licensed Land Surveyor for the State of Kansas for 39 years before retiring in September 1993. Survivors include his wife, Deloris Jean (Segenhagen) Anschutz of 57 years; a daughter, Michelle Anschutz, Horton, KS; a son, Brian (Shelly) Anschutz, Topeka; three grandchildren, Michael, Amanda and Nathaniel Anschutz; six siblings, Glenn (Margaret) Anschutz, Topeka, Leona (Herbert) Mutschler, Gypsum, KS, Dale (Mabel) Anschutz, Ellsworth, KS, Wilmetta Billie (Paul) McDonald, Topeka, Leora Lee True, Westphalia, KS and Maydene Betty (Louis Paul) Meyer, Leroy, KS; a brother-in-law, Jerry (Karla) Segenhagen, Holton, KS; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Vera Lehmann, and three brothers, Kenneth, John and Wilbur Anschutz. A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka. Interment with military honors will follow at the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Carl will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center, St. Louis, MO 63141 or to Helping Hands Humane Society, 5720 SW 21st Street Topeka, KS 66604.
