Adele L. (September 8, 1941 -November 11, 2012)
Adele Levine Kusnitz passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 11, 2012 at Holy Cross Hospital, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida after a lengthy illness.
Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Adele is survived by her husband of 49 years Leland Warren Kusnitz of and her children, Jennifer Molgano (Taylor R. Molgano) and Lisa Saint (Richard Saint). Additionally, she is survived by four grandsons: Daniel Molgano, Michael Molgano, Jonathan Saint and Matthew Saint, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her brother, Philip Levine (Linda Grant-Levine), her sister Frances Levine (Thomas Merlan), in-laws Joel & Judy Kusnitz, Arnold & Cee-Cee Kusnitz as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Adele devoted her working life to medical research and public service. She was elected to five consecutive terms (1981-1989) as State Representative from the 112th District in Monroe, CT. She also held a position as Research Associate in Histology at the Comparative Medicine Section in the Yale University School of Medicine (1985-2001). She was the author or co-author of several publications on research methods in histology. She was involved in many political and community organizations including the United Way of Eastern Fairfield County, Monroe Republican Town Committee, Republican State Central Committee, Martin Luther King Commission, Monroe Charter Revision Committee, Monroe Recreational Commission, Monroe Jury Duty Commission, Justice of the Peace and Board Member Temple Sholom.
Memorial services are planned in Connecticut on November 25 at 1:00 pm, Congregation B'nai Torah, Main Street (Rt. 111) Trumbull, Ct. Driving directions are on the web at: http://www.bnaitorahct.org/directions.html

The family asks that people not send flowers or food, but that donations be directed to the Talking Books Program of the National Library for the Blind, Library of Congress, a service for the blind that was so important to Adele in these last years.
