Stortini, Amelia Marie Dzurka Stortini, of Stratford, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Dzurka. She was also the wife of the late Nello J. Stortini for 66 years. Amelia was a retired Financial Assistant with Mobil Chemical of Stratford, CT. She enjoyed family dinners, traveling and wintering in St. Augustine, Florida and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Bridgeport CT Lodge 289, St Mark's parish and St. Mark's Ladies Guild. Amelia is survived by her loving daughter, Jo-Anne Stanko and her husband James of Stratford; three cherished grandchildren, Justin Stanko and wife Amy of Shelton, Jeffrey Stanko and Camille Freeman of La Mesa, CA and James N. Stanko and wife Chrysalin, of Hamden, three precious great-grandchilden Mason James, Mara Grace and Manning Luke Stanko. In addition to her beloved husband, Nella, Amelia was also predeceased by her brothers, Joseph Anthony and Albert Dzurka. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. DIRECTLY in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane Stratford where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Birendra Soreng. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call at the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street Stratford on Monday, July 21, 2014 from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Amelia's memory to St. Vincent's Swim across the sound, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606.
