Anne Markham Richard, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport passed away peacefully surrounded by family at St. Vincent's Medical center on February 5. Anne was born to Ella and Thomas Markham in 1933. She was pre- deceased by her sister Mary Harrison, and brothers Thomas Frances Markham, John Markham and Robert Markham. She is survived by her children Ellen Richard of San Francisco and Black Rock, William Richard and his wife Sarah of Monroe and Mary Richard and her husband Joe Gloria of Stratford. She is also survived by her grandchildren Katie Richard, Emily Richard and Sean Richard as well as her sister-in-law Martha Markham. In addition, she is survived by her former in-laws, Betty and Emery Baillargeon, and her nephews Ricky, Bob, John, Jim, and Gary Baillargeon and Thomas, William, John and David Harrison. Anne attended St. Augustine's, Central High school, Butler Business School and later in life received a paralegal degree from Sacred Heart University. Anne worked as the assistant to the principal of various Bridgeport schools before becoming the Executive assistant to 8 fire chiefs of the City of Bridgeport. She felt lucky to have this job that she shared with a wonderful group of people. Anne was blessed to have many lifelong friends: Anita, Barbara, Carol, Judy, and her very dear friend Audrey. Her greatest joys were her children, playing a tune on the piano, losing a few dollars at the casino and spending time with her beloved pets, but most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00a.m. at the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull and at 12:30p.m., in St. Ann's Church, Black Rock, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call Friday (TODAY) from 4 to 8:00p.m., in the funeral home.
