CARRION Betty D. Carrion, age 81, beloved wife of the late Carmelo Carrion, of Orlando, Florida and formerly of Trumbull, entered into eternal life with Christ on Monday, April 9, 2012 in Milford Hospital. Affectionately known by much of her family as Abuela, Betty was a devoted wife, and a loving, dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Memories of Betty will be embraced by her children, Riko Carrion, and wife, Adrienne, of Tallahassee, FL, Amy Cotter, and her husband, John, of Milford; her grandchildren, Heather, Jeremy, Jack, Tommy, Desiree, Robert,Shannon,Kyle, Caitlin, Ariel, Meghan and Michael; her great-grandchildren Maxine, Erin, Ian, Austin, Samantha, Aidan, Jack Jr., Charlotte, and Joey, all of whom she loved and was so proud of. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her cherished son, Robert Carrion and grandson, Matthew Carrion. Born on April 30,1930, Betty was a longtime resident of Trumbull before moving to Orlando. A retired elementary school teacher, she also worked for the Social Services Department at Bridgeport Hospital and the City of Bridgeport for many years. Her vibrant personality, compassion and love towards others, talent in the kitchen, and her passion for music and dancing will all be forever remembered. Always a positive thinker and doer, she was an inspiration to all whom she touched in life. Betty was an extremely spiritual woman and has been an active member of The Prince of Peace Church in Orlando, where she served in the Altar Guild and Bible Study. She was truly an angel among us and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 1 PM in St. Gabriel Church, 26 Broadway, Milford. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, of Fairfield Center. To order flowers online, travel directions, or to sign her guest register, please visit
