Although Carol and I talked on the phone from time to time, the last time I saw her was when she visited Wyoming with her father, my Uncle Willie, and the rest of the family. The silly girl brought only sandals, and Wyoming nights are cold, even in summer! And she was very taken with the musk thistle, a terrible invasive species, and wanted to take some seeds back to Connecticut; I think we dissuaded her. She was definitely an east coast city girl, but we loved her. I can hear her voice in my head . . .

Carol was my english teacher in jr highschool, she always believe in me and told me that I could do anything I put my mind too. She was right, I am deeply saddened by this news and will always remember her as my friend and my teacher....Nick Audino

I had Ms. Costello for 7th Grade English at Tomlinson. She introduced me to the wonderful world of Shakespeare. Every time I read "Taming of the Shrew", I think of her. So sorry to her family for your loss.

I was lucky enough to have Ms. Costello for both 7th and 8th grade English at Tomlinson Middle School many, many years ago (1985-86). She made an indelible mark on my education, and was one of my (and many of my classmates') favorite teachers of all time. She was demanding but kind and caring. She earned the respect and admiration of her students. We all looked forward to Ms. Costello's class because we were sure to have fun and learn. I would like to offer my deepest condolences to her family, and I'd like them to know what an outstanding teacher she truly was! Many ex-students are mourning along with you today.

As news of her death has spread among SMS classmates, Carol is remembered as being full of vigor at our 50th reunion. Classmates are sorry to lose a person with a special gift of understanding those she was with, seeing the best in people, and helping others when she could. She will be greatly missed. Condolences to Charles and to Carol's other family members and friends. MEB

Hey Stello, do you realize how many folks are going to miss you? Lots! What will we do without that brash brassy young woman at St. Margarets or at your parents house listening to Johnny Mathis and "A Certain Smile"? Well make sure all those folks upstairs keep in line and their gardens full of flowers. There are too many memories to draw upon and every one brings a smile and a bit of laughter thinking of you and your escapades.
All my love, BP
