Dickerson, Chileon "Chick" L..
Chileon L."Chick" Dickerson, Jr. age 84 of Sandy Hook died Thursday October 24, 2013 in Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was the husband of Mary (Beers) Dickerson. Chick was born in Bridgeport on September 12, 1929 a son of the late Chileon and Jeanette (Nichols) Dickerson. A self-employed Plumber by trade, Chick was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 10190 in Georgetown, CT, and the United Methodist Church of Ansonia. He was a longtime Little League coach. Chick was loved by so many and will be sorely missed. He brought love and light into the lives of everyone he met. As an avid sports fan, he was always quick to cheer for his St. Louis Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys and loved talking with everyone about them. He went out of his way to help those in need and truly loved people. His love for life and positive outlook will not be forgotten. Everyone who was fortunate enough to know him will remember his humor, outgoing personality and his standard response, "no complaints". His family would like to thank the staff of Yale New Haven Hospital, in particular Dr. Mareib, Dr. Dominic, Emily and Joanna, and the staff of Lord Chamberlain for their outstanding care. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Chileon "Lee" Dickerson, III and his wife Helen of Ansonia; a daughter, Lisa Fasino and her husband Michael of Middlebury; a granddaughter, Eliza Dickerson of Ansonia; a brother, Robert Dickerson of Florida and a sister, Jessie Ceccarelli of Sandy Hook; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday October 28th at 10:00am in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St. Newtown. Interment with military honors will follow in Hull Cemetery, Redding. Friends may call Sunday from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Memorial contributions may be sent to United Methodist Church of Ansonia, 47 Franklin St., Ansonia, CT 06401
