Eula Lee Hay Myers, age 89 of Bridgeport entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT. She was born in Allendale, South Carolina to the late Alex Wright and Eula Hicks Wright. Eula has been a resident of Bridgeport since 1954. She relocated to Orangeburg South Carolina for a short time after retirement. She missed her family and returned to CT. She was formerly employed as a CNA with Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown, the VAMC, West Haven and the former Park City Hospital in Bridgeport. Her spiritual needs were met as a disciple of the Walters Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church where she served as a Missionary, a Stewart, Sunday school teacher and member of the South Carolina Club. Outside the church she served as a member of Oriental Chapter #8 O.E.S. P.H. and the Winston R. Dina V.F.W. Post #9991. She was known for her beautiful smile, making others laugh and her welcoming spirit. In addition to her parents, a son Victor Hay and eight siblings predeceased her. Survivors include a son John (Angela) Hay, II of West Palm Beach FL; two daughters, Joan (Pete) Massey and Romona Hay-Peck of Stratford CT ; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 27, 2014, 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Stratford, 1301 Stratford Ave., Stratford with Pastor Janine Hawkins, officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends are invited to the viewing Friday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the church. See
