Resnick, Jane
Jane Riley Resnick, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after a short illness. Born in Lebanon, PA to Isabelle Black Riley and Robert Riley. With a Masters degree in economics from Boston University (1963) her professional career included: manpower planner in Tanzania's Ministry of Economic Planning (1964-7 and 1970-2); collaborator and co-author of a seminal work in economic forecasting at Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs (1967-70); analyst, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (1963-4 and 1972-4); CETA planner for Bridgeport, CT and New Haven, CT (1972-7); and program developer for the United Negro College Fund, (1977-9). She also worked for the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities. Ms. Resnick was named to Who's Who in American Women in 1968. During her more than five decades in New Haven and Hamden Connecticut, she traveled in the U.S. And internationally, and was an avid NY Yankees fan.
Africa remained one of the great loves of her life. Jane was ever a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter and friend. The little ones all wanted to be her favorite, and so they were. She is survived by her sons: Michael Resnick and wife, Nancy, of Myrtle Beach, SC; David Resnick and wife, Lynne, of Prospect, CT; brother Robert Riley and wife, Lynn, of Houston, TX; six grandchildren: Sarah, Savanah, Riley, Haleigh, Paige and Logan; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial pig roast will be held at the home of David and Lynne Resnick (20 Alison Court, Prospect, CT) 12 p.m. Onward on Saturday May 25, 2013.Memorial contributions may be made to the .
