DeLuca, Joseph T.
Joseph Thomas DeLuca, age 93 of Easton, the beloved husband of the late Natalie (Rossomando) DeLuca, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Born in Bridgeport on April 27, 1921, he was the son of the late Samuel and Elvira (Iannucci) DeLuca. Joseph proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII. He was with the amphibious force and was among the first to hit Omaha Beach on D-Day taking a bullet in the encounter and earning a Purple Heart. He was a graduate from the Whitney School of Art in 1947, he was later employed by the Bullard Company. Joseph was a gentle person with a great heart and he was loved and respected by all that knew him. Survivors include his loving children, Michele Peloso and husband Joseph of Easton, Thomas DeLuca and wife Lucille of Milford, Joseph DeLuca and partner Christopher Nevins of Florida, Marylynne Birney and husband Thomas Peter of Texas, his cherished grandchildren, Joseph and Brandon Peloso, Nicole Smith and husband Michael, Thomas Birney and wife Christy, Sara Mazyn and husband Brian, Adrienne Birney, Roseanne Tuozzola and husband Michael and Kim Mauro, his beloved great grandchildren, Natalie, Madeline and Thomas Birney, Salvatore and Julianna Tuozzola, Michael and Mia Mauro and Natalie Smith. He was predeceased by his siblings, Donald DeLuca, Beatrice Parente-Lauro, Irene Waterbury, Eleanor Guerro. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY in Notre Dame of Easton Church, 640 Morehouse Rd., Easton with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the CT Chapter, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill CT., 06067 in memory of Joseph.
