Sr. Marie Frances Kling, O.P., 98, died on Saturday, May 3, 2014 in Caldwell. A Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Catherine of Siena Convent Chapel, 7 Ryerson Avenue (Mt. St. Dominic) Caldwell on Friday May 9 at 10:30AM. Visiting at St. Catherine Convent, Caldwell on Thursday 2 to 7 PM. Born in Newark, NJ, Sister Marie Frances joined the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell on February 2, 1932 and professed vows on August 7, 1933. Sister has a BA in Education from Caldwell College and was an Elementary School Teacher at the following schools: She taught at Blessed Sacrament School in Bridgeport, CT from 1933 to 1955 and again from 1985 to 1991, St. Catherine School in Mobile, Ala. from 1955 to 1959, Ss. Peter & Paul School in Hoboken from 1959 to 1962, Sacred Heart School in Dover from 1962 to 1967, Our Lady of Lourdes School in Mountainside from 1967 to 1970 and Our Lady of Peace School in New Providence from 1970 to 1985. Sister worked part time at the Ascension School in New Milford from 1991 until her retirement to St. Catherine of Siena Convent in 2001. Sr. Marie Frances also served as Superior of both Our Lady of Peace Convent and Blessed Sacrament Convent. Sister is survived by her sister, Frances Draude, her sister-in-law, Jean Wennemer Kling, 13 nieces and nephews, 32 grand nieces and nephews and 49 great grand nieces and nephews.
