Cubelli, Mario T.
Mario T. Cubelli, age 90, of Fairfield, beloved husband of the late Sandra (Neubauer) Cubelli, passed away peacefully Monday, December 23, 2013 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on June 27, 1923 the son of the late Michael and Francesca Cubelli, he had been a resident of Fairfield most of his adult life. He graduated from Central High School and then served in the United States Army during World War II, fighting in the battle of Normandy. Upon his return, Mr. Cubelli attended Bryant College in Providence, RI, and then began a career in construction with D'Addario Industries. He later started his own company Morrison and Cubelli Construction. One of his proudest achievements was the building of the sea wall and sidewalks at St. Mary's by the Sea in Bridgeport. In addition to his parents and beloved wife Sandra he was predeceased by five brothers, Nicholas, John, Albert, Louis, and George, and three sisters, Margaret, Lillian, and his twin sister, Rose. Survivors include a few brothers and sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the entire staff at the Carolton Convalescent Home, especially Kathryn Abrahamsen, Director of Admissions, for the love, care, and compassion provided to Mario during his residency. Friends may visit Mario's family on Saturday morning January 4, between 11a.m. and 12 noon at the Spear-Miller Funeral Home 39 South Benson Rd. Fairfield. A prayer service will be conducted at the conclusion of the visitation. In accordance with his wishes, all other services will be private.
