Mary V. (Fenick) DiBlasi, age 90, of Easton, passed away on April 4, 2013 after a brief stay at CT Hospice in Branford following St. Vincent's Medic al Center. She was born in New Canaan, CT in 1923, daughter of the late Stefania and Anthony Fenick and was a resident of Easton for over 60 years. She grew up on a working farm in New Canaan as one of 12 children and continued a love of the outdoors and gardening throughout her life. She was a WWII veteran, serving as a Wave in the US Navy, where she received special training and college certificates from Hunter College in New York City and Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. She had a long working career including; office manager for companies such as Norwalk Boat in Norwalk and The Small Care Co (VW) in Westport; Secretary to the Dean of Graduate Admissions at the University of Bridgeport; and Executive Secretary and Administrative Assistant to the Associate Treasurer and Comptroller of Yale University in New Haven. She also worked for many years as a Treasury Assistant in the Domestic and International Treasury Departments at Stauffer Chemical Company's Corporate Headquarters in Westport. She pursued her love of learning by continuing her education throughout her life, attending Butler Business School as well as Scared Heart University in Bridgeport where she took Accounting and Managerial courses and made the Dean's List. She participated in activities at the Easton Senior Center and continued her learning, taking a number of computer courses there which she really enjoyed, even in her later years. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, her husband of 52 years, and all but two of her siblings, Rose Krapowicz and Paul Fenick. She is survived by her only daughter, Pauline DiBlasi. A funeral mass will be held at Notre Dame of Easton Church 650 Morehouse Road Easton on Tuesday April 23 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Aspetuck Cemetery in Easton.
