Julian, Raymond J.
Raymond J. Julian, age 80 of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in St. Vincent Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on May 10, 1933, he was the son of the late Anthony Julian and Lillian (Mihlbauer) Julian. Ray was a graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport class of 1951 and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Mill River Country Club Since December 1, 1974 in Stratford, the Hillandale Country Club in Trumbull from 1967 to 1972, the Circolo Sportivo Italian Club in Bridgeport, the Port V in Bridgeport, the Marchegiana in Bridgeport, the Fairfield Bocce League since 1990, and Bridgeport PAL, where he received the Distinguished Service Award in 1996, the Man of the Year Award in 1998 and was a Board Member since 1999. He was very generous with many charities in Bridgeport and received many awards. Ray started in 1946 as a Laborer, became Vice President from 1969 to 1979 and was the President of Anthony Julian Railroad Construction Co., Bridgeport since 1979. Ray was honored on his 80th Birthday by the first selectman of Trumbull proclaiming that May 10, 2013 would officially be Ray Julian Day. Survivors include his three daughters, Jayna Lively and husband Jim, Leslie and boyfriend Dave and Marcie Julian Branca and husband Jeff, their mother, Joan Julian, his six grandchildren, Mark and Ryan Monaco, Taylor, Gabriella, Angelina and Jeffrey, his brother, Dominick Julian and wife Paula, his sisters, Lillian Duva, Mildred Cavaliere, Jean Picarazzi and husband Guido, Mary Jane Lovanio and husband Dr. Richard, Barbara Hragyil and Skip Bishop, and sister-in-law, Adelaide Julian, long time companion and girlfriend, Rose Petrocelli, 29 nieces and nephews, 80 great nieces and great nephews and best friends too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his brothers, Anthony (Sonny) and Donald Julian and his sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Nieuwbaur, and Catherine Lopatosky. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY in St. Augustine Cathedral, 359 Washington Ave., Bridgeport with a Mass of the Christian Burial. Entombment in St. Michael Cemetery, Garden Mausoleum, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport.
