Richard L. Sylander, 81, husband of Natacha (Danksha) Sylander passed away on Wednesday July 17th at home in Bridgeport, CT surrounded by his loving family
Richard was born on December 21, 1931 in Chicago Il and was the son of the late William and Isabel (Tamala) Sylander. Richard graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelors degree in business. He was a US Army veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of R.L. Sylander Associates Inc. and was a resident of Westport CT for forty four years prior to moving to Bridgeport one year ago. Richard was a member of the Westport Y's Men and a former volunteer with Meals on Wheels and a former member of the St. Luke Church Choir.
In addition to his wife Richard is survived by one son, Richard L. Sylander Jr. of Fairfield, CT, two daughters Karen A. Sylander of Chicago IL and Elizabeth D. Sylander of Commack, NY and one grandson, Owen E. Hammond.
The Sylander family will receive friends in the Harding Funeral Home 210 Post Road East, Westrport, CT on Sunday July 21st from 3 to 6PM. Friends are invited to attend a funeral on Monday July 22nd meeting directly at St. Luke Church 84 Long Lots Road Westport, CT at 10:00 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions in memory of Mr. Sylander may be made to Meals on Wheels. Condolences may be left on line for the Sylander family at
