Serfilippo, Winifred
Winifred (DiDonato) Serfilippo, age 91, of Stratford died November 24, 2012 in St. Vincent Medical Center. She was the widow of John F. Serfilippo. Born in Stratford to the late Joseph and Rose Schrillo DiDonato, she was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Stratford High School, Butler Business School and the first female graduate of the Police Academy in 1986. As a Stratford police officer she served as a clerk, constable and matron. Previous to her police affiliation, she was employed at Textron Lycoming where she was an officer of the girl's club and treasurer of the Textron Retirees. She was also a member of the Baldwin Center and the Easton, Trumbull, Shelton and Milford Senior Citizens. Winnie was an avid card player. She is survived by her two daughters, Rosemarie S. Dillon of Southbury and Dolores S. Miller of Newtown, six grandchildren, Edward J. Dillon, John T. Dillon, Robert W. Dillon, Mary Kate Dillon, John P. Miller III, and Robert G. Miller, her devoted friend Joseph S. Bucko Sr., seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Lawrence DiDonato and two sisters, Connie DeAngelis Kelly and Kay Kivic. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 11:15 am in the funeral home and at 12 noon in St. James Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment in St. Michael Mausoleum will follow. Friends may call Thursday from 3 - 6 pm. Those who wish may make donations in her memory to St. James Church, 2070 Main St., Stratford or the , P.O.
