PERRY, Clifford James

Passed Away: July 6, 2013 Calgary, Alberta
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Clifford James Perry; a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, after a courageous battle with cancer. Cliff was a kind, gentle, humble man, respected by all who knew him. Besides his parents, Cliff was predeceased by his brother, Tom, sisters: Hilda, Gladys and Helen; nephews: Randy Tibble, Terry Lavigne and Bill Salmond. Cliff will always be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joan, son: Jeff (Rae); daughters: Janice (Greg), Marlene (Bill) and Charlene; grandchildren: Dylan (Amy), Casey and Kyle; great-grandchildren: Caden, Blake, Owen and Mia; sister, Babe (Bill); sister-in-law, Jean (Dale); niece, Monica and nephew, Erick and numerous nieces and nephews in Ontario. Cliff was a professional firefighter in Peterborough, Ontario for 23 years. In 1976 Cliff decided to move to Alberta. He became an employee of Cominco Carseland, working there until 1988. In 1987 Cliff and his friend Roger Redford bought some property southwest of Cardston, Alberta where they built two log cabins. Cliff and Roger spent many hours, sometimes days hunting & fishing. Their friendship and times together were treasured by Cliff. Cliff loved to play crib and played up to two days before he entered Southwood Hospice. The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Hao, Oncologist, Dr. Skarsgaard, Radiation Oncologist and the wonderful staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Center for their compassionate care. Also, a big Thank you to doctors and staff at the Southwood Hospice for their loving care of Clifford and family. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 11:00 am. Memorial donations in Clifford's name may be made directly to Tom Baker Cancer Centre (1331 - 29 Street NW, Calgary AB T2N 4N2) or Calgary East Nazarene Church (5420 8 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB T2A 3P6).
